[!] IMPORTANT: DO NOT RUN THE PROGRAM WAVES OS AS THE 1ST PROGRAM. IT WILL NOT RUN, BECAUSE THERE IS NO BOOT CODE TO LAUNCH IT IN THE PROGRAM. INSTEAD, USE prgmTS3BOOT TO LAUNCH WAVES OS.

This is a basic overview of Waves OS, a semi-multitasking shell written in BASIC. Waves OS will only run on a TI-83 Plus/SE, because of the ROM program PTOOLS and the Assembly progs.

Controls: The controls are self-explanitory and are mainly located on the top of the keypad (F1-F5).

Y= (F1) : Games Option, loads Ion

Window (F2) : Programs Option, loads a list of internal/external programs exclusive to Waves OS.

Zoom (F3) : Options Menu; Password Options and other options such as shut down and quit.

Trace (F4) and Graph (F5) : Goes Back to main menu; refreshes memory and battery meters.

Number Keys Select the menu option you wish to run.

Toolbar functions:

The lower left hand corner of the screen displays your battery status. If an "=" sign appears, then your batteries are ok. If a doesn't equal sign appears, then the batteries are low. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PROGRAM "ZBATTCHK" MUST CALIBRATE ITSELF AND WILL PROBABLY DISPLAY THAT YOUR BATTERIES ARE LOW THE FIRST TIME YOU LOG ONTO WAVES OS. TO FIX THIS, EXIT WAVES OS, TURN THE CALCULATOR OFF AND RESTART WAVES W/ TS3BOOT.

Known Bugs: There are no real known bugs for Waves OS. Through extensive testing, v1.62M is 99% bug-free and completely stable, although some bugs are known to appear every once in a while... If you archive your password list (WOSP) and your ram gets cleared, DELETE IT or Waves OS will bug out when you run Ion (All user data is stored in that list). Also, if you don't have prgmTS3BOOT, prgmPTOOLS, prgmION, prgmA, prgmIONZ, or L WOSP unarchived, Waves OS will not run.

   There are some bugs in the EHT Program Manager v0.9, however. If you access a program that links to an assembly program (like prgmA for Ion), EHT Program Manager will crash. Also, when a program stops (doesn't use the return command), an "Error: Memory" message may appear. Program Manager can, however, lock, unlock, archive, unarchive and delete programs with no problems at all. That is the main reason why Ion is used as the main game "browser"...

Special Thanks to...

Joe W. for the Ion game shell
Brandon Sterner for the PLAYWAV program
David Lindstrm (Cirrus Programming) for PTOOLS
Michael Vincent for the assembly tools (ZBATTCHK, MEM, CONTRAST, etc. from the "Basic Tools" library)
You for downloading my shell

Look for patches and updates of Waves OS (such as the 1.7 NT patch) later :) and the Waves OS II Concept Demo.
